New theme: Reshaping boundaries, unleashing creativity

The 2025 film festival is themed "Reshaping Boundaries" and aims to explore the infinite possibilities of film art. Short films, as a medium with refined form but no loss of depth, are subverting the boundaries of traditional narratives. Whether in terms of subject matter selection, visual expression or technological innovation, each participating film will become a masterpiece that challenges conventions and breaks through shackles.

In-depth exploration of social topics: focus on the most important social issues at the moment, including environmental crisis, science and technology ethics, diverse identities and cultural heritage.

Unique artistic expression: focus on experimental works and non-traditional narrative methods, and appreciate the endless creativity of how creators use image language to express their thoughts.

Cross-cultural exchange: The films will cover more than 50 countries and regions around the world, allowing you to experience the intersection and collision of world cultures in the screening room of Nottingham International Short Film Festival.
